    The National Theatre of Operetta and Musical “Ion Dacian” presents:
    Operetta Fest – Operetta and Musical Gala

    Between November 12-14, 2021, the National Operetta and Musical Theatre “Ion Dacian” organizes the 4th edition of the Festival “Ion Dacian”, a festival designed as a tribute to the famous Romanian tenor, first soloist, director and manager of the Operetta Theatre from Bucharest.

    The Operetta and Musical Gala “Operetta Fest” which will take place on November 14th, at 18:00, will end this year’s edition of the “Ion Dacian” Festival.

    Before the gala, Prof. Dr. Stephan Poen, PhD in Medicine and Musicology, will give a lecture entitled ION DACIAN… Knight of Time Dominating the Times… on the 110th anniversary of the great artist’s birth and four decades since his transition to eternity. The fundamental aspects of Ion Dacian’s personality as an artist, director, librettist, theatre manager, teacher and innovator of the genre in the second half of the twentieth century will be evoked. Some of his legendary performances will be projected that have delighted generations of music lovers with his formidable art. The conference will inaugurate a long cycle that will take place during the artistic season 2021/2022 and which will pay tribute to the great personalities of the Romanian Operetta, which recently celebrated seven decades since its establishment.

    The gala brings to the public’s attention pages loved by operetta, musical, written by famous composers such as: Johann Strauss – son (Viennese Blood, Bat), Fr. Lѐhar (Giuditta), E. Kálmán (Circus Princess, Silvia, Countess Mariza), Fr. Loewe (My fair lady), C. Zeller (The bird seller), Leonard Bernstein (Candide), F.Lopez (Marco Polo’s secret) etc.

    At the end of the Ion Dacian Festival organized annually by the National Operetta and Musical Theatre, which bears the name of the great artist and is led as Manager by Bianca Ionescu-Ballo, on Sunday, November 14th, 2021, at 6 pm, before the Gala Operetta Fest, Prof. Dr. Stephan Poen, PhD in Medicine and Musicology, will give a lecture entitled ION DACIAN… Knight of Time Dominating the Times… on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the great artist’s birth and four decades since his passing into eternity. The fundamental aspects of Ion Dacian’s personality as an artist, director, librettist, theatre manager, teacher and innovator of the genre in the second half of the twentieth century will be evoked.
