November 6, 2017Mioara Manea-Arvunescu has been a soloist of the Operetta and Musical Theatre “Ion Dacian” for over 25 years. She attended the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Conservatory in Bucharest and singing lessons in the class of Professor Lory Ficher in Berlin. The awards include: First Prize at the Byzantine Music Festival in Warsaw, Poland, Special Jury Prize and Lyrical Theater in Spoletto, Italy and at the Belvedere International Competition, Vienna, Austria, First Prize at the Golden Chrysanthemum Festival in Târgoviște,
the Award for “Best Operetta Performer of the Year”, offered by the magazine of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of Romania.
She has toured in the country and abroad with the Operetta Theater and has given numerous concerts and recitals, including the Anniversary Concert – 25 years of career held at the International Festival of Musical Performing Arts “Life is beautiful”.
Her repertoire includes leading roles in operettas such as “The Bat” and “Viennese Blood” by Johann Strauss-son, “Silvia” and “Countess Maritza” by Emmerich Kálmán, “Merry Widow” by Franz Lehár, Elisa in “My Fair Lady” by Frederick Loewe, and many other roles as: Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet” by Gérard Presgurvic, Tangolita in “Ball at Savoy” by Paul Abraham, Lydia in “Circus Princess” by Emmerich Kálmán, Laya in “Flower of Hawaii” by Paul Abraham, Neera from the “The Fountain of Blanduzia”.
